Sleep-In Rollers, Tried and Tested.

I have been, for months now, SO excited to get some sleep-in rollers. I had heard some great things about them and after watching several tutorials on YouTube I finally bought them a few weeks ago.

Now, I’ve never used rollers before, so I was new to the whole thing, but after watching a tutorial on YouTube I was ready to give them a go.

First of all, it’s always better to use them on clean hair.
I personally would recommend that it’s left damp as it makes it easier to section and get your hair neatly into each roller. For big bouncy curls, you want to roll your hair clockwise, and if you want a more flicked effect roll anti-clockwise.
I wanted the big bouncy effect so I rolled all my hair clockwise.

Once the rollers were in and secured, I got ready for bed. Now…I don’t know about anyone else who has tried them, but, I found them very hard to sleep in and I was really disappointed. I mean…I knew they were never going to be super comfortable, but they do run with the tag line ‘Goodbye Sleepless nights, Hello great hair’. The first time I used them, I ended up waking up at 1 in the morning and taking them all out because I was getting so frustrated. However…I think with a  bit of getting used to, I would be able to sleep better.

Although they aren’t that easy to sleep in, they do make your hair look great, and I loved how big and bouncy my hair was when I finally managed to sleep with them in all night.  I’ve recently started just putting them in the top section of my hair for a bit of volume. This way, they don’t get in the way when you’re sleeping, but you are still left with great volume, so for anyone who hasn’t used rollers before, I would recommend doing this first to get used to them.

Sleep-In Rollers cost £17.95. With that you get 20 rollers, which for most, would be more than enough.  They also come in a really cute pink draw-string bag that you can use for overnight stays at a friend’s house. Loads of Celebs have been spotted out in their Sleep-In Rollers, Amy Child's being one of them. She has now created her own purple design for Sleep-In Rollers. There is loads to choose from on the website, so if your not sure what to buy visit

Also, if you are unsure how to fit your rollers, watch Hollie Wakeham on Youtube, she's a great help.  Youtube.com/pampurlounge.

Have you used sleep-in rollers before? If so, what did you think?

Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed – Deep Pore Detox Mask. Reviewed

So I was browsing online for soap and glory skin products as I’ve heard a lot of great things about them, and I came across this product. I’m always looking for new skin products as unfortunately I suffer with oily, blackhead prone skin, so when I saw the name of this product I thought ‘Perfect, just what I’m looking for’. I also really liked the sound of the ‘Hot pore clear technology’.

It's £11 for 100ml, which seems dear, but you only use it twice a week and you don’t have to apply too much, so it actually lasts quite a long time. Inside the box you get a free mini pink sponge which helps a lot with applying evenly and it makes the taking off process a lot easier as you’re not having to splash water everywhere.

So, you apply the mask all around your face, and rub in circular motions. Once you start to rub the mask in, you will feel a heating sensation, (which is a bizarre feeling at first) and the mask will start to turn a bluey colour. Leave the mask on for 5 minutes and then rinse off with the help of the handy sponge. I found that once you wash the mask off, it leaves your skin feeling quite chalky, so really give it a good rinse until your skin is left feeling soft.

After a few weeks of using this mask, I have really noticed a difference in my skin. It’s much less oily and looks a lot brighter. I still have blackhead prone skin, but it has improved a lot. This is a product that you have to stick with, you won’t see instant results, but if you keep with it, it will definitely leave your skin looking much better.  I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with blackhead prone skin; however, if you have sensitive skin, the Hot Pore Technology might not be for you.

Have any of you used this mask before? Or any other heating masks? Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading.

2013, The year of Celeb Babies

Happy New Year everyone! It’s a new year, and my new year’s resolution is to keep on top of my blog. I have so much I want to share with you all about new products I’ve tried and tested that I can't wait to share themwith you all. I hope you all had a fabulous NYE.

So 2013 seems to be the year for celebritiy babies! In November and December it seemed like everyone was announcing their pregnancies and for the most of them, it will be their first child. We all love a celeb baby, and they make so many headlines before their even born. Here are the most anticipated babies of 2013!

The first has got to be our Will and Kate. I think the birth of this baby is going to be one of the biggest headline stories of 2013 and if they have a girl, it will be the first time in the History of the British Monarchy that she will be guaranteed 3rd in line to the throne.  I absolutley adore Kate and I think she will be a fantasic mum. Literally can not wait.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
Am I the only one that was shocked by this news? Although I think they will be great parents, let’s remember that’s she’s still legally married to Kris Humphries. I can’t quite imagine Kim pregnant but no doubt we will see it all happen on KUWTK, and, I’m not going to lie, I will be tuning in to watch every episode.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan.
I have been waiting to hear this news for a while now. They have been married a few years now, which is centuries for a Hollywood couple and I was dying for them to become parents. They are one of the best looking couples around, so there is no doubt that this baby will be super cute.

Rochelle and Marvin Humes.
Well they didn’t waste much time did they! They got married in July and announced the pregnancy in November, so it would appear that they got straight to it. I’m not really surprised by the news of this pregnancy though as for months leading up to the wedding they both did numerous interviews stating they wanted a huge family so they have no time to waste!

Other stars that are rumoured to be pregnant but have yet to confirm are Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston, but I find it hard to believe the latter.

So which baby do you think will create the most headlines?

Trip to London x

So, I know I haven’t blogged in a while, and I want to explain myself. I’m currently in my final year at Uni, so things are getting quite stressful at the minute. There is so much work to do, and it’s hard to keep on top of everything. BUT, I’ve got a lot of work done over the past few weeks, so I’ve now got some time to get back to my blogging!

For a new post, I thought I would tell you all about my weekend away in London. Me and 3 other girls went on Saturday morning for a weekend away for my friend’s upcoming 21st birthday and we had a brilliant time
(even though the hotel we stayed in was a bit of a disaster).

So on the first day we went to Madame Tussauds and had to queue for about an hour to get in! It did go quite quickly though, and it was worth it in the end. We did have a bit of an embarrassing moment though when we were all stood bitching at we thought was a real person taking a picture of one of the waxworks. They seemed to be taking forever to finish taking a picture, and we all got impatient and started ducking under the flash of the camera, only to discover, the ‘person’ was a waxwork when some girls walked passed laughing at us. Bit awkward to say the least. Anyway, here are some pictures of a few of the waxworks.

On the Sunday we got up early and went to the London Dungeons which was brilliant, but really scary at times. Anyone going to London for a sight-seeing trip, I would recommend you visit the dungeons, it’s well worth the money, and you can usually get 2 for 1 vouchers if you visit a Harvester restaurant.

We later went to Oxford Street to do a bit of shopping and we went to a shop I’ve wanted to visit ever since it landed in London a few months ago, Victoria’s Secret.  I absolutely adore their ‘PINK’ range and got myself a gorgeous hoody. My mums going to London at the weekend and I’ve already put my order in for some more stuff I’ve seen online.

I love London, and I always get a bit miffed when I arrive back in Leeds. Leeds it’s a decent city but, the shopping in London is like nothing else. I can’t wait for my next trip. So anyways that’s what I’ve been up to, I’ve also got some new products to review for you all, including Soap & Glory’s ‘No Clogs Allowed’ blackhead scrub that I will be writing up later in the week.

Thanks for reading, and look out for my next post. Xoxo

All About BB Creams

For a while now, I’ve been seeing BB creams everywhere, and most recently noticed Maybelline’s new BB cream advertised on TV. I had no idea what is actually was, and if it was even different to foundation, so I thought I would do a bit of investigating.

Combining primer, sunscreen, tinted moisturiser and skincare properties, BB cream is a day to day product that will leave you with beautiful looking skin. Whether you have dry or troublesome skin, it’s perfect for everyone and gives your skin gentle, even coverage, without the heaviness of foundation. I change my foundation from summer to winter months, but BB creams are light and make your skin look gorgeous all year round.

It’s easy to apply and gives your skin a real lift. Throughout the day you don’t need to apply any foundation on top but for an evening look you can put on a layer of BB cream, followed by your usual foundation and you'll have flawless looking skin.

After trying L’Oreal Magique BB cream, I am a BB cream addict and I’m really eager to try other brands, the ones on the market at the moment are.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream, £7.99

L’Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream, £9.99.

Garnier BB Miracle Cream - Oil Free, £9.99

Body Shop All-In-One Cream, £12

17 BB Blemish Balm, £6.99

MAC Prep and Prime BB Cream - £22

If you haven’t tried out BB creams yet then I would really recommend them, they leave your skin looking so much more natural than just using a heavy foundation does, and most of the ones on the market come at a pretty reasonable price.

The Kardashian Kollection hits Dorothy Perkins.

The Kardashian Kollection is here. The line, designed by Kardashian sisters, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, hit Dorothy Perkins stores in the UK last Wednesday. I love all things Kardashian, so when I heard that they were bringing their line to the UK I was sooo excited. At first I was a little shocked that their range was going to be in Dorothy Perkins, I have never shopped there before, but I guess that’s the whole point, to attract new customers that adore the Kardashians like me.

When I looked online at the range, I was pleasantly surprised by the price of everything, I expected it to be quite overpriced, but it’s really good quality, affordable stuff.  I do have one problem though…all the dresses seem to be tailored towards girls with amazing figures. Kim has been spotted out wearing dresses from the line, and obviously she looks stunning in them, but for the average girl, I think they would be quite hard to pull off. The majority of the dresses are ‘bodycon’ style, which is extremely hard to look good in, unless your tiny..like the Kardahians sisters. Other than that criticism, I think the rest of the line is great, there’s a lot of stuff I’ve got my eye on, and I particularly like the handbags and clutch bags they do and they do a gorgeous range of blouses that would be perfect for an evening out.

The line in the UK is not as large as the one in America, so I’m hoping that once it’s more established over here, they will introduce more stock. If you haven’t already had a look at what’s on offer, then you should, I’ve already got a few things added to my ever growing Christmas list. If you have a Dorothy Perkins gift card, you can use for money off  any of the 'Kollection', and even better, you can now use gift cards on line at
www.dorothyperkins.co.uk

What do you think of the Kardashian Kollection, were you impressed or not?

Stay tanned throughout winter: The best fake tans.

So I don’t know about the rest of you, but I simply refuse to be pale just because it’s the winter. I always like to have a bit of colour and I fake tan probably twice a week. I have recently become a bit bored of the fake tan I’m using, I’ve been using it for a while now, (mainly because it’s cheap) so I feel like it’s time to explore more tanning products. So what’s on the market?

Fake Bake.
I have used Fake Bake products before, mainly the sprays and they do send you a really nice colour, but sometimes I used to go way too dark and I would end up looking a bit daft. I would however, like to try their newest product which is a 60 Minutes Self Tan Liquid. Its £24.50 and they said it’s a ‘revolutionary, express, self-tan liquid which develops into a beautiful, natural looking tan in 60 minutes’. You can keep it on for an extra hour if you want an even darker tan, but I think just 60 minutes would be better for a more natural looking tan.

St Tropez.
I have never used St Tropez before but my mum’s friend uses it all the time, and she has such a good a colour. It gives her a really natural glow so that you wouldn’t know she was wearing fake tan. It also smells quite good compared to some fake tans. St Tropez now have a wash off range which I think is great for if you’re going to an event or party but you don’t want a long lasting tan. You can currently get the full wash off range set for £32 on the St Tropez website.

Xen Tan.
I NEED TO TRY THIS! Everyone is always raving about Xen Tan, and I always say I’m going to buy it, but just haven’t got round to it yet. One thing that does put me off using Xen tan is that it looks really dark and I’m slightly worried I would end up looking like an idiot. Theres some great offers online at the moment for Xen Tan. You can get the gradual/light set for £29, it includes the tanning lotion, along with a mitt and body scrub.

Moisturising tans.
The idea is great…but I am yet to find one that works for me, and gives me a decent colour. The first tanning product I ever used was Johnsons moisturising tan, and it literally made me yellow. I was really disappointed in it, and I haven’t bought it since.
Dove is slightly better, but not much, I like to be able to see a real difference when I apply my fake tan, and with tan moisturisers you can’t.

The fake tan I’m most excited about getting my hands on is Laurens Way. Over the past days I have been reading up on it, and no-one seems to have a bad word to say about it. So this is going to be my next fake tan purchase.  You can either by the moose, the spray bottle, or the gradual tanning lotion. I think I’m going to go for the moose and it’s probably the most easy to apply. You can also buy a body polish that prepares your skin for tanning. I can’t wait to order it all!!
